Brief Answer:
chronic adenoiditis-needs surgery.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns that your son is having nasal blockage.

As per your clinical details and x-ray report, it appears to be adenoid hypertrophy secondary to adenoiditis.

Untreated adenoiditis, can lead to chronic ear drum infection, voice abnormalities, repeated blockage of nose during sleep can transform into obstructed sleep apnea, growth and behavioral abnormalities.

As the symptoms are from 1year (chronic adenoididis- medications will not work), I suggest you to under go adenoidectomy.

Mean time, continue steam inhalation, start him on anti allergic medications montek-lc (as an prophylactic (montelukast +citrizine) daily one tab at bed time.

Hope this answers your question, if you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
