Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Your problem is PCOD - polycystic ovarian disease.
It is a condition of basic hormonal imbalance, due to which the ovary gets studded with multiple small cyst like follicles.
Ovulation is unpredictable and periods are irregular.
The lining of the uterus - endometrium - gets built up heavily and when the bleeding occurs, it is quite heavy and painful.
Please get the following workup done -
1. Pelvic transvaginal ultrasound scan, not abdominal.
2. Hormones - FSH, LH, TSH , Prolactin, OGTT, DHEAS, Free testosterone, Lipid Profile.
Next, weight loss is a must.
Even 5 % weight loss will lead to improvement in symptoms.
Metformin is a drug that will also help in your problems.
For the bleeding, take tablet Trapic MF thrice a day once your period starts.
ALso, request for cyclical progesterone every month, tablets of progesterone taken for 10 days each month to make cycles more predictable.
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.

Detailed Answer:
You can try taking Trapic MF thrice a day for 3 days.
If that does not help, try taking Meprate 10 mg thrice a day.
Before any of that it is recommended to see your gynaecologist and have a scan.
If the endometrium is severely thickened ( endometrial hyperplasia ) it might need to be biopsied.
