Question: Hi Dr. My 18 year old son just brought to my attention that one of his nipples is much larger than the other. It's also got a lump under it and is red. He noticed it last night and says it has got larger today. What could it be?

Brief Answer:
Likely to be cellulitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
If it only occurred last night and is red and increasing in size it is likely to be an infection producing cellulitis.
It may be better to show to a doctor as he might require an antibiotic.
If the swelling has been there for some time, it may be gynecomastia which may occur in young males of his age.
