Hi
Thanks for posting the query
For the treatment of otitis externa or swimmer's ear, pain killers alone will not be sufficient. You will also require oral antibiotics and ear drops containing a combination of steroid and antibiotic. These combination medicines will reduce the pain and inflammation soon.
Continue with ibuprofen and avoid water getting into the ears and see your doctor for prescription of oral antibiotics and ear drops.
