Brief Answer:
Can be a Trivial Injury. Will Resolve By Itself. Or Some Other Problem

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to HealthCareMagic.com I am Dr.J XXXXXXX Anto Bruno Mascarenhas, and I am here to help you. I have read your question with care and understand your concerns about frequent twitching about 3 inches left of breastbone, and the area is slightly tender upon compression.

This can be due to various reasons

1. You might have had some trivial trauma (e.g. edge of table, bike handle, door knob hitting your stomach, injury during games, ball hitting) which you might not have noticed at the time of impact. That could have produced this tenderness and the contused muscles can twitch

2. There is a delayed complication of your previous gastric by pass procedure

3. There is some other new problem in your abdomen

Of these three common possibilities, possibility 1 will resolve by itself without any specific treatment
Possibilities 2 & 3 require that you visit your surgeon and undergo thorough evaluation.

In Short,
If you can remember a trauma (like the ones I have mentioned above), you can wait for few more days for the contusion to heal
If you cannot remember any injury, I would request you to kindly visit your surgeon at the earliest

Hope you found the answer helpful.

If you need any clarification / have doubts / have additional questions / have follow up questions, then please do not hesitate in asking again. I will be happy to answer your questions.
