What Does "3% Immature Granulocytes And 0.2 Immature Grans" Mean?

Question: what does 3% immature Granulocytes and 0.2 immature Grans mean...plus 6 months of nothing but diarrhea
Brief Answer:
Infections
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
Presence of immature granulocytes and increased monocytes in the peripheral blood simply indicates presence of infection in the body. In your case diarrhea for long term which most often is due to infection could be the cause for the above cell counts in the blood.
Protozoal, bacterial or even viral infections can lead to diarrhea for long term and blood picture as yours. Mildly deranged MCV (Mean corpuscular volume) and MCH (mean corpuscular hemoglobin) can also be expected in such infections.
These findings disappear few weeks after the infection is completely cured.
Hope, I answered your query.
regards,
