What Does My TSH Blood Test Report Indicate?
Question: Hi,
I am a hypothyroid patient and would like to take a second opinion on my condition based on the recent test results which I took. My doctor has prescribed me Throxine 75 mcg tablet quite for some time now (3 months). Recently I took the routine tests of TSH/T3/T4 levels and the results were: TSH- within normal range; T3- slightly elevated than normal range and T4- slightly elevated than normal range. Please advise.
Thanks and Regards,

Brief Answer:
You can continue with same dose
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM. I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
In hypothyroidism we modify treatment based on TSH and if needed free T4 values. Once on treatment TSH should be between 0.5 and 3 miu/ml. If it is in this range you can continue with thyroxine 75 mcg per day.
T3, T4 can be slightly above the normal if sample is taken after thyroxine tablet.
Hope this will clear your doubts. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help you.
