What Does My Thyroid Test Report Indicate?
Question: Hi I have recently been diagnosed having hypothyroidism. My test results were TSH 4.8, Free T4 1.27, thyroglobulin 588 and thyroid microsomal antibodies as 130. I was prescribed 50 mcg of levothyroxine. Is there a homeopathic way to treat this. I have read that the medicine prescribed causes hair loss which I don't want to happen. Thank you
Brief Answer:
Subclinical Hypothyroidism.
Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Noted your question. With the microsomal antibodies being elevated, you seems to have auto immune sub clinical hypothyroidism ( hashimoto's disease). Levothyroxine is an effective and safe medicine to treat this. It doe not cause hair loss. However, untreated hypothyroidism can cause hair loss.
Homeopathy claim to have medicines for this. In my experience it is more of placebo effect.
Be assured that, levothyroxine is a safe and simple disease. Recheck your Free t4 and TSH after 6 to 8 weeks.
