Hello.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I read carefully your query and I am sorry you are going through this.

It is true that the risk of having a Pulmonary embolism is higher during pregnancy and this is related with various factors like:
-Changes in hormone levels and blood composition that influence clotting
-Venous thromboembolic disease due to reduced of the blood flow in the legs due to the weight of the fetus pressing upon veins.

It is true that you might have a higher risk that other women of having a pulmonary embolism ,since you have a history of it, but this doesn't mean that you need to abort for sure.
If you want to have this baby ,there are many options to prevent a pulmonary embolism during pregnancy like wearing compression stockings, and taking Heparin during the pregnancy.

I would suggest to consult a good OB-GYN doctor and consult with him the possible options.
He will do a thorough examination including :
-Coagulation profile of blood
-A Echo doppler of the veins on lower extremities.
If after the examination the doctor thinks that the risk of having a second pulmonary embolism is very high despite the options of prevention ,he may recommend the abortion for your safeness.

I hope it helps.
Please let me know if I can help you further.

Kind regards,
Dr.Rovena Murati

Hello.

Continuing with the pregnancy with always contain the risk of having another pulmonary embolism ,despite the options to prevent this.So yes, the safest decision would be abortion .
In this stage of the pregnancy (4 weeks) the abortion is pretty safe and you won't have any major problem.
Since you have 2 little girls, you have to think of them first and take the safest decision.
You can do a medical abortion or a surgical one.You need to consult an OB-GYN doctor for this.

Feel free to ask for any question that you might have.

Take care.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.

Feeling tired and sleepy are normal during pregnancy. It is not related to pulmonary embolism.
The pain in your shoulder,or breast might also be related to pregnancy because sensitive and painful breasts are common symptoms in pregnancy.
The numbness sensation in your arm might be triggered from anxiety but if this sensation is persistent ,you may need to check it out with a doctor. It might be related to a nerve compression. If you feel it in specific situations (when you are anxious) and for short periods of time ,it is not of concern and most likely is just a symptom of anxiety.
Your symptoms are not related to pulmonary embolism or any serious condition so try to relax and don't think bad things. There is nothing to panic.

Let me know if there is something I can do to help you.

Take care,
Dr.Rovena

Hello again.

I can understand that what you have gone through is very difficult and it is normal that you will feel scared and anxious, thinking that something bad with happen again but there is no reason to think that.
You should try to stay calm and manage the anxiety.Stop thinking about death and bad things.
All you need to do is to consult an OB-GYN doctor and discuss with him the best option of abortion for you.

Hope it helps.
Take cake.
