Pain On Foot And Legs, Burning Sensation. Taking Lipitor At Higher Dose. Suggestions?

I have been taking lipitor for some time now 10 mg but my dr upped it to 20mg in the past week . Been taking it for about 5 days at the higher dose and Iam feeling a little off the beem so to speak . I am having lots of pain in tthe top part of my left foot and small pains in my leg as well . The pain in my foot can be quite strong as it is very sharp an I feel like screaming at times this has just started in the last couple of days . there is also a burning feeling . I am also biebetic and have recently upped my pills . But quit a bit before this started

It would appear you have peripheral neuropathy which is a complication of diabetes. Your blood sugar levels have to be under check consistently.

Lipitor is a lipid lowering drug. Abnormalities in lipid and diabetes are major cardiovascular risk factors that can lead to severe cardiovascular events such as stroke, artherosclerosis with resultant ischemia on various body parts.

It will be important to see a doctor for an evaluation and to rule out other causes such as thromboembolic disease, electrolyte imbalance etc.
