Brief Answer:
please furnish more details

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. After reviewing your prescription paper, I have inferred that your doctor has started you on RHE- FD, which is a combination of antitubercular drugs, but the reason for which the drug is being given is not evident in it. I would request you to upload the reports of any investigations which your doctor had advised, so that I can tell you the reason for starting the antitubercular drugs.
Please tell whether you got your endometrial biopsy done.
Moreover, I would like to know from when you are trying to conceive, and what all medications you have tried.
Hope you found the answer helpful. Please do get back to me with reports so that I can give you complete information.
Wishing you good health.
Regards,
Dr Deepti Verma

Hi Madam

We are in relationship since 2005. There was an abortion (using tablet, 40 days pregnancy, under supervision of a doctor) in the year 2007.

Now we want to conceive and this is the first time we will try to conceive.(not tried it since then)

An year back(16-05-2014) , we visited Dr. XXXXXXX (report attached) and took the test and medicine as told by her. Please have a look (PCO).

current situation:
No Endometrial biopsy was done by Dr. XXXXXXX

Small amount of fluid was injected into the skin in the lower part of the arm and was told to return after 48 hours to have look at the arm. There was a slight hard area or swelling and redness.Based on this she prescribed the medicine. No other test was done.

Please advise.

Thanks XXXXXXX Tikmani

Brief Answer:
Can be suspected tuberculosis

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX thanks for responding.

I have reviewed your previous papers and ultrasound report. Irregular menstrual period, weight gain and polycystic ovaries in ultrasound are suggestive of polycystic ovarian disease. Conceiving in polycystic ovarian disease is a bit difficult because of irregular or no ovulation at all. It needs a stepwise management to treat infertility in PCOD patients.

Your doctor has started you on antitubercular drugs based on the Mantoux test (injection in arm, as you mentioned). The person is suspected to have tuberculosis when the induration in the arm around the injection site is more than 10 mm.Usually, antitubercular drugs are given in positive mantoux test only when there is associated infertility, pelvic inflammatory disease, or signs of tuberculosis on hysterosalpingography.

Uterine tuberculosis can be diagnosed only by endometrial biopsy examination.

Hope you found the answer helpful. Please do get back for further queries.
Wishing you good health.
Regards,
Dr Deepti Verma
