2 Year Old, Knee Injury, Bruise, Movable Lump On Knee, Pain On Touching. Treatment?
My 2 year old is pretty adventurous and has fallen on her knees quite a few times, the last time she fell on stairs at daycare and had a very nasty bruise for weeks. I just noticed yesterday that she now has a movable BB sized lump on her knee. It floats freely and hides at times and at times is very prominent and looks as though it could pop through her skin. She says it hurts when you touch it, what could it be?
Just watch for knee joint movement if there is no restricted movement no need to worry,
For pain - you can give Pain killer orally, you can apply pain relief gel on injury site(if there is no open
wound)
Bruise and movable lump - It take long time to go.
I would advice:
1.Warm compression on knee(Blood circulation)
2.Watch for knee swelling
3.Watch for restricted movement of affected knee.
4.For safe side X-Ray knee AP/LA,
You should get her evaluated once for her complaint to get her examined physically by a pediatrician.
Thanks
"I wish she will get well soon"
