5 Year Old, Having Swelling From Mosquito Bite. Taking Prednisone, Swelling Recurring. Can I Give More Prednisone?
My 5 year old son took a 3 day dose of prednisone for large swellings from a mosquito bite. Four days later he has three more mosquito bites that cause large swelling again. Can I give him another 3 day round of prednisone? or is that too much prednisone to take? and what if a week later he continues to get bit? should he take again?

5 Year Old, Having Swelling From Mosquito Bite. Taking Prednisone, Swelling Recurring. Can I Give More Prednisone?
Hi, Thanks for writing to health care magic. I can understand your concern. Normally we do not prescribe steroids like prednisone for mosquito bite. Simple antihistaminics as prescribed by your doctor should solve the problem. Steroids reduce immunity and may result in infections. Continue to ask further queries as required. Hope this helps.
