5 Yr Old Has Deviated Uvula To The Left, Says 'ahh' It Pulls Even More To The Left. Any Ideas ?
Hi, I m a Speech Pathologist and I was performing an Oral Mech exam on a 5 year old boy. I noticed he has a deviated uvula to the left and began to research. He does not have any other symptoms of a cranial nerve problem as far as I can tell. When he says ahh it pulls even more to the left. Is there anything else we need to be concerned with this case?
It could be a normal variant / occasionally nerve palsy (IX) To be sure, the boy must be examined by a neurologist for further assessment and assistance.
Take care Wishing speedy recovery God bless Good luck
