7 Months Baby, Twisted Body Part, Difficulty In Walking, Fell Down From Cot. CT Scan Done. Suggestions?

Hello dr,
A baby at 7 months old fell down from cot.She was findng difficult while saying few words and one part of her body is little twisted.difficulty in walking...Her CT scan says
Small well defined hypodense areas seen in bilateral ganglio-capsular and adjacent left periventricular white matter region
Impression says:Small gliotic areas seen in bilateral ganglio capsular and adjacent left parietal petriventricular white matter region-suggestive of chronic infarction.Please help us.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

It is important to know the birth history of the baby and the age when she had a fall. A brief history on her milestones also would be important.

The CT report says that there was possible decreased blood supply to the basal ganglia and internal capsule areas of the brain on an earlier occasion and presently show these changes.

These may not progress further but because the area of the brain involved is important, the amount of damage needs to be assessed be seeing images.
