Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
7 Year Old With Idiopathic Epilepsy With Partial Seizures. Headache, Fever, Sound In Head. What Is Wrong?
I have a 7 year old son with Idiopathic Epilepsy with secondary partial seizures. For the last two days he's had a runny nose. Today he came home from school complaining about a headache, & he layed down on his own to take a 2 hour nap. He woke up crying that his headache was still there at the temples of each side of his head, he was also running a fever of 101.2 as well as complaining of a high pitch "sound in his head" I assume he means a ringing in his ears possibly? I don't want to sit in a waiting room for 3 hours just to be diagnosed with a flu.
I can understand your dilemma. However, without a physical examination it is not possible to tell you the cause of your son's fever and headache. Headache with fever can be due to as simple a reason as flu or it may be due to other reasons too. Till your son get examined by a doctor and appropriate medicines are started you can give him tab. paracetamol 1/2 tab. which will reduce the fever and give him some relief in the headache.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.
