Hello,
You had
sinus infection a little time ago and you got better. Now again the symptoms are recurring. You are also getting fever again. Since you are getting back the symptoms, you are suggested to get a comprehensive examination of the nose and sinus passages done by a specialist.
Several anatomical issues prevent sinus cavities or the proper
drainage of nasal passages. Nasal polyps or other
soft tissue growth may cause obstruction to the normal drainage. Other medical conditions that can cause stuffy nose and discomfort are deviated
nasal septum, turbinate hypertrophy, scar tissue in the sinus cavities that may cause nose bleeds.
Nose bleeds can also occur due to drying of the nasal mucosa or blowing the nose too hard. To prevent recurrence, proper diagnosis should be made by a specialist to treat the cause causing reoccurrence. Removal of nasal polyps or other soft tissue obstructions can be done by using minimally-
invasive procedures such as nasal airway remodeling.
Deviated nasal septum can be corrected by surgery. Keeping the nasal passages moist are helpful to reduce symptoms. Avoid
smoking cigarettes or inhaling second-hand smoke, it will trigger the symptoms. Limit outdoor activities that over-expose you to pollen, animal dander, dust, laying in a field, hiking through high grasses/weed, etc. Eat well to take care of your immune system (try an anti-inflammatory diet). Manage stress and get appropriate rest that is required.
Take shower at night to flush allergens and to clear out your
sinuses. Splash your face with warm water in the morning to flush allergens and irritants that settled on your face or in your nose while you slept. Take decongestant. Do continue to take the medicines you had been prescribed. Get treated.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
