Am I Having Hiatus Hernia?

Greetings from sri Lanka
I had been diagnosed for Hiatus Hernia five times whenever I did an endoscopy-but yesteryear my doctor did afresh endoscopy after 3 years and says , there is no sign of Hiatus Hernia at all? am confused is this possible,Pls help

Thanks for writing in.

A hiatus hernia is when part of the stomach squeezes into the chest through an opening in the diaphragm called the hiatus. Endoscopy shows inflammation and transition of the stomach which are indicators of hiatus hernia. If you do not have any such finding on endoscopy then it is almost confirmed that the is no inflammation in your oesophagus and stomach.
