Are Body Aches, Nausea And Dizziness Normal After Treatment For Shingles?
I got Shingles about 1 month ago and have had many unusual symtems ever since. I have been dizzy, nauseous, have severe headaches, back pain in my upper and lower back with pain shooting up my left side. I have recently been having pelvic pain like cramping and sharp shooting pains. My whole body aches. Is this normal after getting Shingles?
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Shingles is a viral infection that is treated with anti-viral agents like aciclovir.Nausea, dizziness and headaches could be side effects of this drug. However, persistence of these symptoms associated with other symptoms like back pain, pelvic pains with cramps a month after using the drug will need further investigation to exclude other possible causes. The new symptoms you present could be caused by a pelvic inflammatory disease or an STI, digestive disorders or a UTI.I will suggest you see your Doctor for examination and work-ups like STI work-up, urinalysis, and a stool exam if any digestive symptoms. In the meantime, an anti-spasmodic like spasfon and a pain medication like paracetamol may help reduce the pains. Hope my answer will help you Best regards
