Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Are Tiredness And Sleepiness Normal In A Person Having A Stent Inserted?
My husband had an acute heart attack 10 days ago, when doctors placed a stent in the left ventricle due to 100% blockage. He was released from the hospital aftrr 5 days and was informed to walk. He is now very tired and sleeps most of the day. He is taking metoprolol, Atorvastatin, lisinopril, effient and aspirin. Is this normal? I m worried.
Dear madam, by your description it looks like he had a major heart attack, probably anterior wall MI. The probable reason for his tiredness might be decrease in the heart pumping capacity ( you have not given details about this). Even though they have put the stent, if heart pumping capacity is reduced then it has to be re-evaluated and treated. Second possibility might be some sort of intolerance to prescribed drugs.
