Back Injury, Compression Fraction To T5 Spine. MRI Done. What Does The Result Indicate?

I fell on cement stairs due to black ice and I ended up with a compression fraction to the t5 on my spine and in the report it also states that the MRI showed small disc osteophyte complex at the level of t12 to l1 causing moderate left neuroforaminal narrowing without significant spinal canal stenosis can u explain all that to me and exactly what that means

Hi,thanks for writing to HCM. Disc osteophyte complexes are the normal findings seen on a MRI scan for a middle aged person which generally carry no significance. So there is absolutely nothing to worry as long as you dont have any neurological disturbances. Just use some dorsal support for your spine inorder to prevent the development of angular kyphosis at the level of compression kyphosis which can be painful. Use calcium supplementation for 6 weeks.
