Back Pain While Breathing, Laughing Or Coughing, Pain Occurs Near Sternum As Well. Causes And Cure?
there is pain in my right mid-back when i take a breath, laugh or cough . i experience it in sleep as well, when i move around there is sharp pain like a knife in my back. its been around since last week. when i sit in a sofa or arm chair and get it, the pain is also there. today, its more pronounced when i m in a state of prostration - in prayer. the pain is also near my sternum

The hepatobiliary system including gall bladder, liver and common bile duct. caused by conditions like cholecystititis means inflammation of gall bladder due to stones or without stones and hepatitis of any type. Liver function test will help in evaluation
Sometimes hydatid cyst also cause such symptoms which can be diagnosed by ultrasound.
It is recommended to have a visit to your doctor for proper evaluation.

The possibilities are; a chest wall pain (muscle or ribs) , a nerve injury , problem inside the chest cavity I.e. pleurisy . Unfortunately your history does not provide enough information to differentiate between these. Also at least a chest x-ray will be required to exclude possibilities.
