Bump On Foot After Injury, Hurts To Touch. Could I Have Broken A Bone?

On August 12, I dropped a small dresser on my left foot . It was very painful, turned black and blue, and swelled. However, I did not see a doctor and after a week the swelling and discoloration had reduced. However, now it has been several weeks and I still have a large bump on my foot where the injury happened, and it hurts to the touch. Could I have broken a bone?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello ,

Thanks for posting your query

You had injury over your left foot & after this swelling & tenderness present.

It might be a soft tissue injury or a fracture.

You need an x-ray to rule out fracture.

So you have to visit an orthopaedic surgeon for exam of foot & treatment as required.

Regards,
