Bump On Head, Located Behind Ear, Pain On Touching, Headache, No Head Injury. Swollen Lymph Node?
I have this very odd bump on my head. It s not from an injury I simply woke up with it. It s located about an inch behind my ear where my neck and head meet on the left side. It s a little bigger than the size of a pea and is completely solid. It hurts to touch, it hurts to turn my head to the right side, and i have a horrid headache which is consistently getting worse. What is this?
Hi thanks for your question.
The bump you are having most probably could be a boil that is infected hair follicle with cellulitis (infection of adjacent tissue). The lymph nodes in neck are enlarged secondary to infection. You need a course of antibiotic and analgesic anti inflammatory drugs(pain killers).Consult a physician or an ENT surgeon who may be able to examine you to determine what exactly this swelling is and accordingly he/she may prescribe you drugs.
Hope this answers your question.
