Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist, Suhani Sethi's Response
hi
welcome to hcm
you need to do an MRI brain to rule out a paralysis problem
if the MRI is clear then it might be because of the spine problem which can also be confirmed via MRI
first find out the exact cause and then proceed because the treatment differs
plus if he has associated urinary problems, problems with his sensation etc it might be a neuro case

The fact that he isn't able to move his hand could indicate nerve compression by the damaged spine. He should not exercise by jogging UNLESS instructed to do by the Doctor/Physiotherapist. When did it happen. Does he have weakness in the legs. Any problem with urination and bowel motion. He needs to see an Orthopaedician/Neurosurgeon to rule out spinal nerve compression.
