Can Blood Loss In Intestinal Cacum Be Hereditary?

Hello, my question is over the intestinal cecum. When my mother was alive she kept having to get blood because no one could find out why or where she was losing blood at. When her doctor did the bullet intestinal test on her for the 4th time it was accidently discovered her cecum was bleeding when the camera kept taking pictures before it came out through her rectum. That answered where the blood lose was happening. My question is could this be hereditary because the same thing is happening to my brother, where no one can find out why he is losing blood. Thank You, Vershelle Smith

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Caecal bleeding is likely to be from vascular malformation, leading to abnormal vein dilatation and bleeding.
It could possibly be genetic.
Further assessment of your brother using radio-labelled chromium/rbc may be required to know exact origin of bleeding.
In case you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Wishing you happy and healthy life

Take Care
