Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a colonoscopy last monday, and since then I have felt worse. My doctors disgnosed me with colitis. There was inflammation in my cecum as well as other places. Since the colonoscopy I have had pain in my upper stomach toward my back. It almost feels like I hate something sharp and is scratching my back, is this associated with the colitis? The only thing that does not give me that pain is greek yogurt.
If the pain is started after the procedure then it could be due to that only but it cannot be severe such pain can be bearable, but the severe pain of course demands the medical attention.
If the pain condition is there even before the procedure, then it could be due to the inflammatory condition of guts and it may be colitis.
Differential diagnosis is matters here, because such pain could be due to infection and ulcer condition, intestinal injuries and many other GI conditions, if the pain is persistence, then it has to be taken for further work up.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Akhtarhusain
