Can Ear Infection Be The Cause Of Recurring Fever In My Baby?
Hi there, my 11 month old son is having an on again and off again fever. I'm assuming it is an ear infection because he just had two ear infections a month ago. At the moment however we are uninsured, how can I obtain medication for his ear infection without seeing a doctor?
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. You are right. Ear infections could be the cause for recurrent fever. The choice of antibiotics depends on the past history. If no antibiotics have been used in the past 30 days, Plain Amoxycillin will do . If not, Amoxycillin -Clavulenate will be the drug of choice, both drugs duration being 10 days. If any allergy to the above drugs Azithromycin will do. Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health. Dr. Sumanth MBBS., DCH., DNB (Paed).,
