Can Fluconazole Be Taken Simultaneously With Tetralysal?

Hello,I am currently taking tetralysal anti biotics for my skin,as I have a marina coil fitted and unfortunately the progesterone has caused me to get mild acne.the tetralysal has cleared my skin but unfortunately is now causing a thrush problem. Is fluconozole ok to take with tetralysal? And if the thrush re occurs, should I consider stopping this particular anti biotic? Or do you think that maybe my body may get used to the drug and eventually stop giving me thrush, almost like becoming ammune to it?...really need some advice please! Many thanks

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per you query you have acne on face which is due to clogging of ducts of sebaceous glands with bacteria and sebum. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to wash you face 2-3 times a day with mild soap and warm water to prevent the accumulation of oil ,dust and bacteria on your face. You can take fluconazole simultaneously with tetralysal, only for short duration. Apply vitamin E oil at night. Apply kojic acid cream on face. Avoid greasy creams ,use water based products. Don't pick or touch acne. If acne still persists consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe ointments containing benzyol peroxide, azelaic acid or retinoids. Sometimes doctor may also prescribe antibiotics.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
