Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have recently been placed on insulin--Novolog and Lantas--following surgery. I also take Amaryl and prednisone for RA. I have been having lots of muscle pain and feel lightheaded and very weak--unable to function. My pulse rate is now 54 to 64. Can insulin have these side effects?
HI Thank for asking to HCM I really appreciate your concern and from the history given here I would like to say that if your are on insulin then taking corticosteroid is contraindicate although this is may not be the reason of increasing the pulse rate, you have not mentioned the pulse rate, if you are measuring this on your own then chances of increasing the rate is very likely, and this is nothing to worry, have a nice day.
