Hello. I had woken up with another severe migraine attack. I was vomiting over 24 hours straight, which has happened in the past, but never that bad. When i was able to get to my telephone to dial 911 i then realized i could not move my left hand and my left arm was numb. I was i the hospital for one week. The mri shows white matter changes and they said that these changes are most typically seen as the residual of a migraine or as an acute hypertensive event. Can a migraine cause radial nerve palsy? PT has not helped.
Hello..I can empathise with your situation. What you experienced was in all probability a migraine variant known as hemiplegic migraine. The weakness experienced in one half of your body was part of the migraine attack. It usually resolves in 24 hours but may last for several days as in your case. Migraine will not cause radial nerve palsy. Please consult a neurologist who can evaluate you and start you on appropriate prophylactic (preventive) medication for migraine in case you are not on it already.
