Can Stomach Virus And Cold Effect The Liver Function Test?
Hi, I just got a call from my doctor and he is asking me to come in to redo the liver function tests I had done last week. I am not sure what this means and I am concerned. The week before the test i had a stomach virus and wasn't able to eat or drink very much. I have also had a cold for a couple weeks. Would this effect the tests?

Hi, During infections, some lab values do vary. If there are abnormal values due to stomach virus or cold, diagnosis cannot be made, if you are not sure. Get retested. If you give more details regarding the reports, I can help you more. hope this helps. Dr. Jyothi BL
