Hello there,
First of all I would like to know where do you take your insulin shots? Do you take it in the arms? If yes then it is possible that this thickening in your arms is because of insulin injections but that means you are not taking your shots correctly. Repeatedly taking insulin injections in the same spot can lead to something known as lipodystrophy ( increase in fat mass) leading to this feeling of hardening in your arms.
You need to change the location of taking injections, ideally try taking it in our abdominal area avoiding the navel and 1 inch around it. Anywhere away from the navel on the trunk is a safe and best place to take insulin injections. Even on the abdomen keep changing the spot of injections day by day.
However if you do not take insulin in the arms then this hardening could be something else and needs further evaluation.
Hope this helps.
Take care
