Can Typhoid Cause Permanent Organ Damage Causing Tiredness And Fatigue Always?

Is there a true Cure for Typhoid fever? i was just curious because i suffered from Typhoid fever 2 years ago, but i just don't have the energy like i use to, i always feel lethargic, fatigue, tired, dizzy, and can't focus/concentrate properly.i feel kind of slow and not as sharp as i use to be before the typhoid fever. i did have a relapse of my typhoid like 2 weeks after i came out of the hospital. but what's weird around 3-4am in the morning i feel normal like i did before the typhoid. it has been like this for the past 2 years ever since i have caught typhoid fever. i have made some lifestyle changes like only drinking bottle water, no soda, no alcohol,no coffee or tea.only eating fruits, veggies, and healthy food while consuming raisins daily. (good nutrition is really doing nothing for me)

at the time of my suffering the doctor first gave me IV-injections for one week, then when i had my relapse. my family doctor prescribed me Ampicillin 500-MG, and my disease specialist prescribed me 3rd generation Ciproflaxin (brand name Ventin) 200MG, it still did not help out and the Doctor tried to say that the Typhoids was resistant to the medication. i caught my Typhoids over in Bangladesh, i was treated though when i arrived back in USA.

is there still low Amounts of Salmonella Typhi hiding in my blood, spleen,or gall bladder? or did the Typhoid cause Permanent Damage to my Nervous/immune system.

rumors have it that Typhoids can cause permanent organ damage in the 3rd week of the illness/disease.

Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
Good to know your in-depth knowledge about your disease.
Typhoid by natural history get healed up by 6 th week and the most important complication of intestinal perforation can occur in the 3 rd week so this week is called as most dangerous week.

Yes typhoid can cause some permanent damage as you have read.. but not the way you think of.
You have already taken enough of medicines.

Coming to your history- you say you are absolutely alright at 3-4 am .
Yes the bacteria can remain dormant in the gall bladder, but with the advent of newer medicines , which you have already taken this chance is reduced.

You can request for blood culture for salmonella and if it is positive you can take the antibiotics according to the sensitivity report.

Azithromycin is a drug of choice in resistant cases as you have contracted the disease from Bangaladesh.

I have another say :::
It is possible that you are now suffering from another medical disease, due to reduced /lowered resistance due to typhoid.
I would suggest you to undergo blood/ urine/ stoll tests to rule out other medical problems, also an X-ray of the chest and ultrasonography. A good clinical judgement by a goods Physician can help you diagnose or rule out other problem and get the treatment for it.
Widal test can remain positive for 6 months and does not mean that you are having typhoid , so do not get over-treated.

Start a normal home-made food of whatever you used to have before typhoid.
