Can Varicose Veins Cause Leg Swelling And Knee Pain After Mitral Valve Replacement?
Left leg swelling (water retention), Knee pain when walking i.e. pressure on knee. Blood pressure is 126/67 , heartbeat 64. I take ferosomede , warfarin, and metropoline. Had open heartsurgery August 2012 Mitral valve replacement. Ten years ago was treated (injections) to collapse varicose veins. Could the swelling be related to the varicose veins problems - I have spider and some bulging in both my legs but more in left leg. Thx
I think it is not varicose vein but either knee synovial or arthritis. As You are on anticoagulant drugs even slightest injury can cause blood Collection in your joint. Also some time because of inflammation of knee joint covering, this type of pain can occur. I would recommend you to apply hot water fomentation to knee joint and compression bandage. Get a knee ultrasound done. Also x ray can help.
