Cause Of Re-occurrence Of Swelling And Pain In The Wrist?

I sprained my wrist in one of my self defines classes, I broke my fall on the outer part of the wrist; not extending it, but having a direct hit. I felt really sore, I couldn't work out or anything! It was swollen and was irritated. I am usually a very fast healer. This happened around dec. 10th and it was almost all better by new years so I decided to try to work out, I lifted a weight and it happened again. I use the rice acronym, and there is no swelling, looks just like the other wrist, it feels sore when I turn it all the way, either way, but other than that its good! I just want to get back to the gym and being healthy again. How long will this take, and how bad is it? Thank you! p.s. I still can't hold heavy weights but up to 25lbs is doable

Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic
Definitely either it is strain or a fracture.
In either case immobilisation of the joint is mandatory,
Sprain subsides with immobilisation withn 3-4 weeks.
If it is fracture you need immobilistion with plaster cast for 4-6 weeks.
Any way you need to take x-ray of the wrist joint.
Consult orthopedician if there is a fracture.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose
Please feel free to ask any more queries if required
