i recently took my 18 month old daughter to the doctors because she had blisters on her tounge hands and knees they first said it could be hand, foot and mouth but then said chicken pox she was very poorly with it,after a day or two of her back to her normal self i woke with itchy spots over my body mainly one side they itched at first and crusted and now look like little burns i have no other symptoms feel absolutly well in my self fort maybe i had shingles as i had chicken pox wen i was younger but herd u get very poorly with shingles

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
I am suspecting herpes zoster (shingles) in your case. You are right that shingles is a reactivation of chicken pox which usually occurs in childhood.
This is caused by a virus which remains latent or hidden in the body and gets reactivated when the persons immunity gets low due to illness, increased stress levels etc. This reactivation is common in the elderly.
In your case I am suspecting exposure to the virus (your daughter) could have triggered the reactivation of zoster.
This infection presents with rashes on one side usually supplied by the nerves affected by the infection. This is called dermatomal distribution.
I would suggest application of acyclovir cream over the lesions 4-5 times a day. Tab Atarax 25 mg thrice a day for a week for the itching.
