Child Has Asthma. Prescribed Cyproheptadine. Using Albuterol Inhaler. How To Lose Weight?
child 12 yrs old 170 lbs, 4'7'' has asthma and doctor prescribed cyproheptadine and said would help with his asthma but won't that combat his weight loss he desperately needs. The doctor says he is morbidly obese I agree have put him on a diet and tried to increase activity but his asthma inhibits this most of the time. Has inhaler of albuteral but I do not feel he should need this whenever his active.
There is no recommendation of cyproheptadine for bronchial asthma. We use what are called preventors if the attacks are frequent. These include inhaled steroids like budesonide etc. During a acute episode we use what are called bronchodilators. These include salbutamol etc.
