Child Has Fever, Restless, Heavy Breathing. Anterior, Posterior Neck Pain, Leg, Thigh Pain. Problem?

I have a 4 year old child with sudden fever 100.3 taken under the arm. Restless but not lethargic, heavy breathing (typical for him with fevers). Hot to touch. Not confused. He has complaints of anterior and posterior neck pain and leg pain in the groin and thigh region. He did go to a birthday party today at a bounce place which could explain the neck pain but uncertain. Should I continue to work on the fever or do I need to take him to the ER?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

I suggest you should take him to the ER once. This I am suggesting in view of his neck pain. Does he have neck stiffness (difficulty and pain while bending his neck down)?
Does he have any vomiting (particularly projectile vomiting)?

Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
