Child Having Sore Throat, Reddness, Ear Pain, Clear Fluid Coming Out. Should I Get It Checked?
My 5 yr old son has had a sore throat and cold for 6 days. Saw the GP on Friday who said his throat was red but not infected. His cold has got worse and he has been complaining today of earache and has just told me his earwax has melted. I looked and has a clear fluid coming from in his ear. Do I need to take him to get checked out ASAP
He needs to be checked again as he likely has an ear infection and the drainage from his ear is probably due to a hole in his eardrum. This needs to be checked and both an oral antibiotic and ear drops will be given.
Hi, It seems that he is having upper respiratory tract infection spreading to ear. Go for one antibiotic medicine course after consulting your doctor. Avoid giving cold drinks and junk food. Ok and take care.
