Hi,
Noted your short history of syringing done for
ear wax for blockage, there is sharp ringing pain,
throbbing pain not allowing to sleep, used olive oil ear drops. The commonest causes of pain in ears after syringing can be one of the following:
Otitis externa meaning skin edema that is entrapped between the bone outside and the hard inside causes
severe pain not allowing sleeping.
Development of fungal growth.
Trauma caused by self cleaning.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
- Consult an ENT Surgeon to know the exact cause allowing specific treatment along with the routine treatment in the form of proper antibiotic, anti-inflammatory medicines with painkiller properties.
- Anti-fungal drops if there is fungus.
- Once the cause is settled, the pain gone then only try the removal of the remaining wax.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
