Child Having Weight Problem. Eating Normal. Undergone Tonsillectomy. Any Damage To Thyroid Glad Possible?
Hi, My daughter went for a tonsillectomy when she was 7 yrs old. ENT said all went well, but had to take more than they liked, because they was large. She is 15 yrs old now. She doesn t eat any more than other children. She has a waight problem solid build. Iam wondering if they damaged the thyroid gland?. If so what can we do?
hi.. i can understand your concern for your young daughter..i suggest get her thyroid checked and ask her to join a gym for light weight training/ circuit training regime.. this will help increase her BMR.. give her small meals every 2-3 hours like fruits, nuts, salads, dry roasted snacks..make sure she has salads before lunch and dinner.. keep her dinner light like soups, salads, chicken/ fish, avoid rice/ breads at night..she should drink atleast 2 litres water/ day..ask her to rest enough..
