Child With Low Grade Fever, Joint Pain And Body Aches. Chest X-ray Showing Streaky. Chances Of Bronchitis Or Pneumonia?

My 16 yr old daughter has had a low grade fever, joint pain and body aches for 4 1/2 days now.. Her temp spike to 103 last night and we took her to ER. The ER Doctor took a chest xray and said one side was a little streaky but not enough to make a diagnosis of bronchitis or pneumonia.. Should I get another xray done by another doctor.. should I be concerned about the xray since her other symptoms are still present.?

Hi,

I fail to understand why an X-ray chest was done when she had no cough ,cold or respiratory problem. So another X ray might also not help in diagnosis unless she has symptoms.

From the description of her complaints it appears that it could be a viral infection and it should get alright in few days. However if the fever is still persistent and of high grade nature i would suggest that you get her re examined and maybe get her blood and urine tested to try and localize the infection.

Regards.
Take care.
