Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
An ankle sprain usually takes 3-4 weeks to heal with adequate rest and regular hot fomentation. In case there is persistent pain on weight bearing and swelling is gradually increasing then it is best to get an X-ray done to rule out any bone injury.
