Colonoscopy Shows Hematochezia, Congested Mucosa Found In Ileum, Redundancy Of Colon, A Pedunculated Polyp. Meaning ?
I recently had a colonoscopy and I have no clue what these results mean. My appt isn t for another week and a half.... says under indication: hematochezia . Procedure: passed to terminal ileum with great difficulty. Findings: congested mucosa found in ileum, redundancy of colon, tortuosity of sigmoid colon and a pedunculated polyp 10-20mm
Hi,
Colonic polyp is a common cause of fresh blood in stool ( hematochezia). pedunculated polyp is essentially a benign condition. if your finding came as multiple polyps then any syndromic associations to be ruled out but single polyp is less severe, this has to be resected . consult your surgeon.
