Could Red Spots On Back Of Throat, Forearm And Back Of Hands Of A Child Indicate Strep?
My 2 yr old has red spots in the back of her throat and did have tiny red spots on her forearm and back of hands 2 days ago. We just noticed the spots in her throat today. She has a runny nose with clear discharge and frequent sneezing, no fever though. could this be strep or just a cold??

Thank you for following up, we should differentiate: scarlet fever, allergic reaction. For confirmation of streptococcal infection you can do throat culture. Scarlet fever caused by B-hemolytic streptococcus ,accompany with rash and acute tonsillitis. Consult your baby at doctor and get him examined. Best regards Dr.Svetlana Shrivastva
