Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Dark blood clots in poo is suggestive of bleeding in gut.

What is the color of blood clots?

If it is tarry black it is suggestive of upper gastrointestinal bleeding and if it is fresh and red, it is from lower intestinal tract.

Consult the doctor immediately to refer you for gastroenterologist opinion.

Endoscopy or colonoscopy may be required depending on the source of bleeding.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
