Developed An Abscess After Nissen Surgery, Became Septic, Removed. Lost Appetite Now, Weak. What To Do ?

my mom had nissen surgery about a month and a half ago. two weeks later she developed an abscess and became septic. They had to go in and remove the infection. we almost lost her. she has been in the hospital now for 3 weeks. She gets so worked up when it is time to eat. She has no appetite and only can eat a few bites before she gets sick. She lost a good bit of weight. She is week. My question is why do you think she has no appetite, and cannot eat. Instead of mesh to close the hernia. He put I think he said pigs skin. does that MAKE a difference?

Hi, the changes appears to be due to the septicaemia she due to the infection and abscess. During the course of time the intestine are inert, and with out functioning, before it is functing, they should become ready for functioning . Thank you.

Hello, hanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Due to many disorders and trauma , through which , she passed she develops anorexia as appetite centers depresses .
Now only appetizer can stimulate her appetite.
Buclizine Hydrochloride tablets 2-2-2 ( three times a day ) for 7 days will boost her appetite.
Cprohetadine +sorbitol+tricholine ( available in syrup form) will increase her appetite.
1-2 tablets for anxiety or tension will give some relief .
Good luck.
