Diagnosed With Rheumatoid Arthritis. Pain And Swelling In The Joints. Taking Folvite, OCQS And SAAZ. Proper Medication?
I am 42 Yrs old female. Have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis for last 6 years. I had pain in all joints initially but now My left knee is affected presently. It is having pain and mild swelling for last 3 years. I am taking OCQS 200mg, SAAZ- DS one tab daily and folitrax 7.5 mg twice a week and one tablet folvite daily except days on which I take folitrax.
Is it a combination of medicine which can cure this disease?
What are side effects of SAAZ DS?

Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Hydroxychloroquin (OCQS), + Salfasalazine DS + Methotraxate ( folitrax). The combination of these three drugs are uses for rheumatoid arthritis treatment now a days successfully. The folic acid is added to maintain level of folic acid in body. The dose of SAAZ- DS should be very high as 6-8 gram/day. Side effects are as follow, rash, fever, hepatitis, agranulocytosis, hypersensitiyity pneumonitis, worsening of colitis Hope I have answered your query.
