I am 30 yrs old female, height 5.4 weight 56 kgs,was prescribed by Dermatologist one month back to take ISOACE-20 for 2 months. One month is over and I am finding some weight gain though not sure whether to relate this to the medication. My acne has come under control.I just want to k now should I continue this medicine again for a month, and also if weight gain is there due to this medicine,Is it temporarily and come back to normal once i stop medication. As i do not want to cure one thing and get other problem.Appreciate your response on same.
Hello, ISOACE is ISOTRETINOIN given for treatment of acne. This drug doesn't result in weight gain. Most common side effects are dry skin, increased photisensitivity, fatigue and headache in some. Your weight gain could be because of less activity due to lethargy or increased consumption of calories.Reduce your calorie intake and do regular aetobic exercises for at least 45 minutes a day. Get the thyroid function tests done to rule out hypothyroidism. Thanks
